Complete Crap - Being Revised
Information technology is part of the standard curriculum in most secondary schools these days in the developed world and has been almost since the commercial inception of the World Wide Web. Developing and emerging third world countries also place a significant emphasis in providing the opportunity for students to learn information technology.
Major software companies such as Microsoft and Macromedia(now Adobe) almost immediately attempted to bridge the gap between people possessing the necessary technical knowledge and publishing to the World Wide Web by developing WYSIWUG(What you see is what you get) software programs which were either incorporated into existing word processing software or developed as stand alone programs that gave people the opportunity to design web pages without knowing a skerrick of any of the underlying and necessary programming code. Smaller software developers designed their own similiar type of programmes or more advanced database driven software programs.
As a consequence the opportunity now basically exists for everyone to publish information to the World Wide Web whether they studied Information Technology at school or simply acquired one of the many available software programs.
So why engage the services of a professional website designer? Well, we suppose for the same reasons you employ the services of a professional secretary. Most people can file and type but does that make them a good secretary?
