Page Guide's primary role is to assist our web designers in denoting whether a particular page requires further development or not.

Myths and Fables

It's commonly been held that having "Under Construction" signs or symbols on a website is unprofessional and will drive visitors away in droves.

This is utter nonsense!

The only disadvantage a website ever incurred for displaying under construction signs was at the turn of the century when Yahoo was the predominant search engine. The only disadvantage incurred back then was if a website was trying to be indexed in the Yahoo Directory which was compiled by humans and not the robotic crawlers search engines utilise today. The policy of Yahoo was not to index a website under construction, which could be easily ascertained and verified when the site was visited for assessment and adjudication by Yahoo for inclusion in their directory.

Since Yahoo is no longer the predominate search engine and their human directory now belongs to a bygone era; it is only practical to extend a website's capabilities and integrate major upgrades and new sections without the need of shutting down the entire site for renovation; to only then having to re-emerge and promote the changes to the site in case they go unnoticed.
